In a small canyon in Texas, the summer heat was over 100 degrees. We walked about 1 mile into this location shaded by the steep sides that seemed to go on forever. The sun only touches the narrow canyon floor a few hours a day. We found this spot with a small pool water that we were guessing was at least 6 feet deep and crystal clear. Amber positioned herself toes just inches from the surface .
